That’s why we’ve added the Shure Axient Digital PSM in-ear monitoring system to our extensive inventory of professional audio rental gear. As the newest addition to Shure’s industry leading Axient Digital line of products, this system offers unparalleled personal monitoring system audio quality, reliability, and flexibility for demanding live audio environments.
The ADTQ 4-channel transmitter delivers exceptional stereo audio clarity via digital transmission with ultra-low latency, providing real-time monitoring with no perceptible delay. Single carrier and WMAS modes have an average latency of 2.9ms, but if less latency is desired you can run the system in analog transmission mode, without having to change infrastructure or switch out your RF tools, at the expense of using up a little more spectrum space.
Previously, Shure PSM1000 systems could pack 9 channels of analog transmission in each 6 MHz TV block. The spectral efficiency of the new Axient Digital PSM is unparalleled, sporting up to 28 channels of digital audio in that same 6 MHz space (in WMAS mode), making the ADTQ and ADTD invaluable additions to large scale productions where many performer’s IEM systems need to work seamlessly together. Since Axient Digital PSM is now a more spectrum efficient digital transmission, there’s no more companding – resulting in better stereo separation, clarity, and detail in the stereo spectrum of the audio signal. The ADTQ and ADTD support analog XLR inputs, Dante, and AES, all up to 96k sample rate.
With Shure’s Showlink software, you can remotely monitor battery levels, toggle packs on and off, and even push firmware updates easily directly from the software. Battery life is 6 hours per charge, and the packs run on the same SB910 batteries used for other Axient Digital products. With the AD8C antenna combiner, you can either combine from 8 to 1, or alternatively 4 to 2, and the combiner will talk to the transmitter and automatically adjust for signal loss depending on the combination setting.
