New In Rentals: Yamaha DM5 and DM5C Digital Mixing Consoles

•

TC Furlong is excited to announce the addition of the Yamaha DM5 and DM5C digital mixing consoles to our rental inventory! Building on Yamaha’s established reputation for professional audio performance and intuitive workflows, the new DM5 series brings powerful mixing capabilities to a compact, versatile platform. Designed for a wide range of applications, including live sound, corporate events, houses of worship, theater, and broadcast, these consoles offer audio professionals a flexible solution for demanding productions of all sizes.

The Yamaha DM5 delivers substantial mixing capacity in a streamlined footprint, featuring 60 mono input channels, 24 mix buses, 12 matrices, and two stereo buses. Its 26 physical faders, two 13.3-inch multi-touch displays, and two additional 4.3-inch touchscreens provide extensive hands-on control and clear visual feedback. For productions that require a smaller footprint without sacrificing essential mixing capabilities, the DM5C offers 48 mono input channels, 13 physical faders, and a single 13.3-inch multi-touch display paired with a 4.3-inch touchscreen. Both consoles deliver the processing power and flexibility needed to handle complex mixes while adapting to the space and workflow requirements of each production.

Connectivity is another major strength of the DM5 series. Both consoles feature 64-channel Dante input and output capabilities, making them well suited for networked audio systems and integration with compatible Dante-enabled equipment. The standard DM5 provides 32 analog inputs and 16 analog outputs, while the DM5C offers 16 analog inputs and 16 analog outputs. Both models also feature 18-in/18-out USB audio connectivity, a PY expansion slot for additional processing or I/O options, and flexible integration with other Yamaha I/O devices. These capabilities make the DM5 series a practical choice for productions that need to accommodate recording, playback, networked audio, and a variety of system configurations.

Yamaha has also equipped the DM5 series with an extensive collection of onboard processing tools to help engineers shape their sound. Input channels feature four-band parametric EQ, multiple dynamics options, and access to a range of high-quality effects. The consoles include 43 effect types and a 16-slot onboard effects rack, providing plenty of creative options without requiring an extensive collection of external processors. Both models also include 12 channels of Dan Dugan automixing, with an optional license available to expand that capacity. For corporate presentations, panel discussions, conferences, and other applications involving multiple open microphones, this feature can help engineers maintain consistent levels and improve overall mix clarity.

Beyond their audio capabilities, the DM5 and DM5C are designed to make operation more intuitive and efficient. Customizable controls, user-defined keys, assignable rotary encoders, and flexible fader banks allow engineers to tailor the interface to their preferred workflow. Yamaha’s DM Editor software also supports offline setup and editing, helping engineers prepare show files ahead of an event. Whether you need a full-featured console for a larger production or a compact solution for a space-conscious setup, the DM5 series offers a modern mixing platform that can adapt to a variety of professional audio environments. Our rental offering also includes the premium rack card option for the DM5 and DM5C.
